On 2015, OKI Data Corporation and Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII) signed an agreement in which OKI Data Corporation acquired the globally-deployed wide format printer business of Seiko I Infotech Inc. (“SIIT” hereinafter), a subsidiary of SII.
Through this acquisition, OKI Data Corporation did not only acquire the portfolio of wide format inkjet printers for signs and LED graphic plotters of SIIT, but also the technologies and development resources.
On September 30, 2016, OKI Data Infotech Corporation, announced their new ColorPainter E-64s. This is a 64-inch wide-format printer equipped with low-odor, eco-solvent SX ink designed for low to mid-volume sign and graphics business.
Low-odor SX ink improves working environments while achieving a wide color gamut, vivid glossy prints, high-density color, outdoor durability, and low operating costs, making it ideal for interior and exterior applications.
The ColorPainter E-64s inherits certain features from the higher-end models, including automatic print adjustments using optical color sensors that automatically perform both media advance and bi-directional position adjustment; Smart Pass Technology 4 (SP4) and Smart Nozzle Mapping 3 (SNM3).
