Everybody has a notion of what 3D printers can do and at least they have an idea of how they work by using a layering process to create 3D figures made out of PLA o ABS. The truth is that 3D printing can allow you to print almost everything you are capable of modeling with 3D software, or, downloading it from the web, but the maximum printing sizes are real small compared to the rest of the printing industry.
Massivit 3D Printing Technologies wanted to challenge the limitations of size and to transform the way high-level marketing, advertising and themed projects are created; they recently launched the Massivit 1800. This super-sized printer can print faster than any other 3D printer and it has a lower material consumption.
Their maximum printing sizes are:
- Height: 1.8 m
- Width: 1.5 m
- Depth: 1.2 m
The Massivit 1800 has been sold by Papergraphics to Stylo, a graphic production company based in Watford.
“3D printing on such a large scale will dramatically change the way the company does business. Create, innovate, print is our company vision. We underpin this by investing in the latest technology. 3D printing is an exciting new service we will be able to provide to our existing and new customers.”
Simon Olley, managing director at Stylo.
This new 3D printer has come to change the entire way we know 3D printers. It can print one 1.8m piece at the same speed a regular 3D printer prints a 20x20x20 cm piece. Its main applications will be displays, POS, and billboard markets.
