Colorjet is one of the largest Indian manufacturers of wide format digital printers, showcased live demonstrations of the first Eco Solvent concept printer with XAAR MEMS printhead technology at APPPEXPO 2017 trade show in Shanghai.
This year I had the opportunity to speak with Smarth Bansal who is the brand manager of ColorJet, Smarth explained the development process for XAAR and this new concept in solvent printers: AURAJET.
The interesting thing about using the technology of the two companies, both ColorJet printers and XAAR print heads is that they managed to create a printer that is bringing stable and efficient technology to users with low cost. XAAR is a world leader in the development of digital inkjet. Since it is a new concept of printing, we still have to wait a little longer to see how the printer works onto different materials and what the customers define as the strengths and weaknesses.
AURAJET is a large format digital eco solvent inkjet printer that can be used for high volume outdoor signage applications. AURAJET ‘s grey scale printhead uses variable drop size. During the show Colorjet exhibited the AURAJET series II, it has a 1.8-meter printing width, this printer has 3-way heating system: pre heater, mid heater, and post-heater. This system allows the colors to be brighter as Smarth pointed out. The Aurajet has an advanced media handling system that secures the media during printing, so it does not move.
